Filtration Sand
Description
A small particle size, typically between 0.25mm and 1.8mm, silica-based product, used in a wide range of filler applications. Most common sizes are:
BS 16/30 (0.5mm – 1.00mm)
BS 14/25 (0.6mm – 1.18mm)
BS 8/16 (0.8mm – 1.6mm)
BS 6/14 (1.18mm- 2.8mm)

Conversion factor: Approximately 1.75 tonnes per m³
Conforms to: BS EN 12904. National Drinking Water directive, and other BS standards as required.

Useful Information
- Most common material used is land derived silica sand, often triple washed and graded to suit the application. However, in more recent years waste glass has been used, following extensive cleaning and crushing to ensure it meets the required specification
